Chuck and Melissa Schwalbe are newcomers to our congregation, settling in Boonsboro  in April 2009.  Boonsboro is the latest stop in a series of interesting places that career and life have taken them:   Crofton, Maryland; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Madison, Wisconsin; State College, Pennsylvania and Savannah, Georgia.  They chose to retire here when Chuck retired from his career in entomology with the USDA.

“We always felt so comfortable in Boonsboro and loved the country side…a little piece of Wisconsin here inwestern Maryland.”  Both the Schwalbe’s  grew up in Wisconsin, and were sweethearts at Manitowoc Lutheran High School.  They have three daughters:  Stephanie and husband, Mike in Florida;  Rebecca and husband Chad in West Friendship, Maryland and Katharine who resides with her parents.  They also have a granddaughter, Emily, and two grandsons, Aidan and Owen.

Trinity offered the warmest of welcomes among other churches the Schwalbes visited in the area.  They opted to become a part of our congregation because of the “lovely people here and the friendliness.”  They enjoy many outside activities such as fishing, gardening and just being out and about.

We are glad to welcome Chuck and Melissa to our congregation. Get to know them!
