Sunday, September 7, 2014, celebrates who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and provides us with an opportunity to serve our community.

On that Sunday at Boonsborough Days in Shafer Park, Trinity Lutheran will offer an opportunity for the community to write of messages encouragement and thanks to members of the military on blank cards. A tent will be set up and members of Trinity will assist people who want to write a message. These cards will then be sent to Homefront Hugs USA which will distribute them. Trinity members will be identified by wearing the blue Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church T-shirt.

The following is needed for this service:

  • Volunteers from Trinity to serve at the tent – the time frame will be of your choice [If you do not have one of the church’s T-shirt, we have several to choose from.]
  • Blank note cards for the messages
  • If you are interested in helping with “God’s Work. Our Hands” Sunday, please contact Susan Layos at 301-432-2282 or email at jlayos9906@aol.com.

Thank you.
