COVID-19 & Worship Update for 9/26

Dear Church Family,

I am writing to inform you that someone attending Trinity recently tested positive for COVID-19. The person attended Sunday School hour, worship and the picnic on September 19th and wasn’t feeling well in the following days. The person then tested positive this past week. The other family members of that household have not shown any symptoms, have been tested and have tested negative. I ask that you please keep them all in your prayers for good health and a swift recovery.

In consultation with the Council President, Tim Panther, Parish Nurse, Susan Layos, and with the support of the Church Council, we have made the difficult decision to move worship to an online-only format this Sunday, September 26th. This has not been an easy decision to make, but one made with the health and safety of everyone in mind. We invite you to join the online worship service by going to our Facebook, where it will be livestreamed: www.facebook.com/TrinityLutheranBoonsboro

The service will then be uploaded to our website soon after the service has ended: trinitylutheranboonsboro.org

Similarly, all other in-person meetings and Bible Studies should be moved to an alternative format like Zoom or conference calls for the upcoming week. If you need any assistance setting up a meeting or need technical assistance, please get in touch with Pastor Karl.

The Pet Blessing, scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd will still be held in person. In person-worship and in-person meetings and other gatherings are set to resume October 3rd.

If you or someone in your household feels symptoms, please get tested and be in contact with the church. A list of possible symptoms is included at the end of this email.

Let us pray: Great Healer, you have undergone great pain in your own life among us. Grant healing and comfort to those suffering from illness. Provide them with your strength and restore their wellbeing. Bless those who care for the afflicted; give them compassion, empathy, and wisdom and keep them safe. Help family and friends who stand alongside those who suffer and remind them of your presence and peace. Out of this time of struggle, bring hope and healing, blessed Lord. Amen.

In Christ,

Pastor Karl Muhlbach
