Flying Boxcars

We had such fun going to a game last year, we’re headed back again this summer!  On Sunday, June 7th, following the Coffee Call to honor graduates, we’ll head to the ballpark for a 2pm game.  Mark Poffenberger is organizing the tickets, which are $10.  Please reach out to Mark to let him know how many tickets you’d like to have – or email to hello@trinitylutheranboonsboro.org.

Sight and Sound show - JoshuaSight & Sound – JOSHUA

Trinity is working on putting together something really special – a group trip to the Sight and Sound theater near Lancaster, PA on Friday, October 2, 2026 with a show starting at 3pm and dinner following.

If you have never been to a live Sight and Sound production, it is a unique and entertaining experience – all based on stories from the Bible. The show this year is JOSHUA.

Description from Sight & Sound:

From the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho, JOSHUA is a miraculous adventure for the whole family. Journey alongside the people of Israel as they navigate their new-found freedom in an unforgiving wilderness. When Joshua is called to replace Moses as their faithful leader, tensions mount in the midst of dwindling supplies and approaching armies. With one last fortified city standing between the Israelites and the Promised Land, unexpected help emerges from behind enemy lines and Joshua’s trust in God’s plan is put to the ultimate test.

Experience one of the most redemptive stories of the Bible as it comes to life in this brand-new original stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres.

Tickets sell out FAST – especially for a large group so we have reserved 50 tickets in a block. The final cost of the ticket/dinner (and possibly bus) combo is being finalized and we will post that soon. It will likely be around $120 per person with children 12 and under around $64.

Payment will be by cash in person on an upcoming Sunday worship, or by check. (If preferred, arrangements can be made to pay by card, but we’d need to add on the 3% fee that Square will charge Trinity to take a card payment.)

Tammy DeBaugh has done a lot of the legwork – THANK YOU TAMMY!

DINNER – Part of the outing will be dinner at the Bird in Hand restaurant for their Smorgasbord.  This is a combo discounted ticket that allows us to see the show and have dinner as a group.

There is also an option to hire a charter bus to take the group so no one has to drive individually. It is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to the theater. Tammy is looking into rates for that and the cost would depend on how many people go.  Please indicate on the form whether you would prefer to go by charter bus or by your own transportation.

The bus cost could be approximately $40 per person.

DATES – We understand that people might prefer a Saturday show, however, there are now no dates available for a group this year on a Saturday.  Friday would be the next best option for our group.

Thank you and feel free to ask Tammy if you have questions – or email to hello@trinitylutheranboonsboro.org
